JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: ARCHIVIST (LEGAL AND REGULATORY)
SUPERVISOR: TRIBAL ATTORNEY
SALARY: $45,000 TO $55,000

NATURE OF WORK: Provides administrative and document management support sufficient for the effective and efficient operations of Tribal Attorney’s Office. Principal responsibility is to serve as archivist. Coordinates with all Departments, Programs and Enterprises to gather legal and regulatory documents for scanning and archiving.

REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES:
1. Compiling, indexing and archiving legal and regulatory documents.
2. Shall process incoming and outgoing documents.
3. Compose, draft, and type documents, reports, and correspondence ensuring they are accurate and correct.
4. Perform data entry and filing.
5. Perform document scanning and archiving in Google Apps or other office applications.
6. Provide routine clerical services such as distributing and processing mail, copying documents, scanning, emailing, faxing and distributing faxes. Identify priority/time sensitive matters while maintaining security and confidentiality.
7. Maintain various office files both physical and digital.
8. Perform numerical calculations.
9. Other duties assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
1. Demonstrate excellent customer service and public relations skills written and public relation skills within an office environment.
2. Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure and accomplish multiple assignments.
3. Ability to type 45 wpm.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
5. Ability to work in a team environment.
6. Dependability a must.
7. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
8. Knowledge of basic math.
9. Ability to maintain alpha and numeric filing systems in both physical and digital format.
10. Ability to operate LibreOffice and Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
11. Ability to operate Google Apps and other Internet based applications including Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and one year of experience working as a biologist in shellfish or wildlife research/management programs; or Bachelor’s degree in library science and one year of experience working as a librarian or archivist. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
2. Working knowledge of biostatistics.
3. Must be physically fit and able to carry out demanding work in rugged terrain, in all weather conditions and on the water.
4. Proficient computer and office equipment skills.
5. Positive references.
6. Exhibit strong communications skills.
7. Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
8. No criminal convictions.

CONFIDENTIALITY: The employee will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Violation of this agreement can result in immediate dismissal.
